Then stitch-in-the-ditch from the front. The key is to make sure your overlap is just the right amount (I cut 2 1/4'' strip for double fold with a 1/4'' seam) and keep it evenly folded around as you sew. If you're not careful you'll go off the back edge without knowing it and have to rip it out.Jessica Levitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18100210046331601558noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3428433493521342909.post-55305763522505978712010-06-26T17:31:34.177-04:002010-06-26T17:31:34.177-04:00I use the slip stitch as well, but my stitches are ...I use the slip stitch as well, but my stitches are 1/2" or so apart. Also, maybe if you use clips too it will help you to keep the binding in place more securely. (Need to get some of those myself) Hope this helps as I am not very good at teaching, better at learning! You will get it though--don't worry. There are some good hand stitching videos on Monkey see too. http://www.monkeysee.com/play/2149-sewing-the-slip-stitchSarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06247447650956604911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3428433493521342909.post-88355054145344303202010-06-26T11:53:39.976-04:002010-06-26T11:53:39.976-04:00What a fun vacation!

You basically hold the needle parallel to the binding and wiggle it side to side picking up a bit of the binding then a bit of the backing, a few stitches loaded on the needle each time. Here's a nice visual tutorial: http://turningturning.com/tutorial-invisible-ladder-stitch-for-quilt-binding/SarahBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08703824927960894673noreply@blogger.com
